On behalf of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce group and part funded ERDF project CAR we would like to invite West Midlands SMEs the opportunity to attend one or more of the following fully subsidised study visits.

CENEX Low Carbon Vehicle Event 2011

Ride & Drive, Conference & Exhibition – ROCKINGHAM 7th and 8th September

The largest low carbon vehicle event in the UK will attract around 3000 visitors and up to 100 technology exhibitors.  It will include:

  • OEMs
  • The low carbon vehicle supply chain
  • Lightweight vehicle structure producers
  • High efficiency internal combustion engine and powertrain developers
  • Alternative fuel manufacturers

Sustainable E-Mobility in Europe Event PLUS Ride & Drive Event at Nissan's Test Track

GATESHEAD COLLEGE 15th September

A major international conference on e-mobility and electric vehicle development including speakers from:

  • The Director of the Office for Low Emission Vehicles
  • Future Transport Systems
  • Amsterdam Electric
  • NAREC
  • CE Electric UK

Participants in the Ride & Drive Event at Nissan on 13 September will have the opportunity to drive a range electric vehicles including Nissan LEAFs, Peugeot iOns, E Range Rovers and Avid CuEVs

Frankfurt Motor Show 2011

Frankfurt, Germany 15th or 16th September (trade days)

The Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA Cars) is the world's most comprehensive show of the automotive industry for everybody who develops, manufactures or uses passenger cars. Special feature is the large presence of suppliers throughout the whole automotive value added chain, including special interest media, workshop equipment, engineering services, tuning and telematics solutions.

Aachen Body Engineering Days

Aachen, Germany 20th & 21st September

OEMs and materials manufacturers as well as research institutes will report about latest developments on innovative structural concepts and materials.  Besides presented cars, bodies and components, an associated technical exhibition will also include displays of sketches and models of design studies.  The programme includes representatives from: 

  • Aston Martin
  • General Motors

  • Ford
  • Audi
  • Mercedes
  • VW
  • JLR
